Erasmo currently serves as Director of Primary Health Care (PHC) Programmes within the Health Department of the Synod of Livingstonia, where he provides leadership in the planning, implementation, coordination and monitoring of community and facility-based health programmes. He previously served as an Environmental Health Officer, giving him a strong foundation in environmental health, WASH, disease prevention and community health. He is a PhD Candidate in Sanitation at Mzuzu University and holds an MSc in Sanitation, Postgraduate Certificate in Public Health, and BSc in Public Health.

Alongside his full-time role, Erasmo is an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Livingstonia, where he contributes to the training and mentorship of the next generation of public health professionals. His teaching portfolio spans programmes from certificate to master's level, including Infectious Disease Epidemiology, Sanitation, Public Health and Community Health. His academic and professional interests are particularly centred on strengthening health systems, disease prevention, WASH, programme management, research, One Health, evidence-informed decision making and community health.

Erasmo also brings practical consultancy experience to his work. He currently provides Monitoring and Evaluation consultancy services to Transform International and DRI, supporting programme performance, learning, accountability and evidence generation. Previously, he served as a consultant for an endline evaluation for Love A Village and Rural Development Partners, further strengthening his experience in research, evaluation and development programming.

As Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Beyond Borders D-E Consulting Group, Erasmo provides strategic leadership to the organisation, with particular responsibility for Africa Region and Local Affairs. He contributes his experience in public health, research, programme implementation, consultancy and local development contexts to help position Beyond Borders as a globally oriented consulting group with strong understanding of African realities.

Knowledge becomes meaningful when it is transformed into solutions that improve people’s lives.

My Philosophy

Erasmo believes that effective consulting is not simply about providing technical advice. It is about listening, understanding context, challenging assumptions, generating evidence and working alongside clients to develop solutions that are practical, sustainable and measurable.

He believes that African institutions and communities possess significant knowledge, talent and potential, and that consulting should help unlock that potential rather than impose solutions from outside. His approach therefore combines global knowledge with local realities, technical expertise with practical experience, and evidence with human-centred thinking.

My Vision for Beyond Borders

Erasmo envisions Beyond Borders D-E Consulting Group as a truly international consultancy that brings together expertise from different disciplines, countries and perspectives to address complex development challenges.

His vision is to build a consultancy that moves beyond geographical, institutional and disciplinary boundaries, connecting organisations with the expertise, evidence and innovative thinking they need to create lasting impact.
